Now in its ninth year, the Freelancer Awards by YunoJuno has become the largest event of its kind in the world. We are incredibly proud of what this event has become.

This year we broke all records with a staggering 30,000+ votes. The Honourable Society of The Middle Temple was location for our Summer event, in-person and outside! It exceeded all of our expectations.

2021 saw The Sweet FAs return to its normal format of individual awards per freelance discipline.

Whilst no live event took place due to COVID, SFA/21 had a great line-up of finalists and each category was highly contested.

In 2020, as COVID-19 started to have a dramatic impact on all walks of life, The Freelancer Awards changed its focus. In 2020, we decided to award freelancers who have shown acts of kindness in the time of COVID. The response was incredible and the winners so deserving.

6000 votes,
750 attendees, 16 worthy winners and 1 incredible night at Shoreditch Town Hall.

The first ever Freelancer Awards. What started as a simple idea at YJHQ, quickly gained steam to create the calendar event of the year. The result: a sell-out event with peers recognising their peers like never before.

Making an impact

Winning this award was a highlight of my year! I’ve always found YJ a great place to be spotted and hired, and to be recognised in this way, as a freelancer, is so valuable.

As a freelancer I have often felt unseen, so winning the Developer of the Year award felt extra special. It’s amazing to feel recognised for the hard work that we do.
